High performance fiber is a special fiber with excellent mechanical properties, strength of 18cN/dtex (20g/D) and initial modulus of 441cN/dtex (500g/D). The main varieties are para aramid (polyphenylene terephthalate) of organic fiber, all aromatic polyester, high-strength polyethylene fiber with ultra-high relative molecular weight and newly introduced polyphenyl dioxazole, etc. The inorganic fiber is mainly carbon fiber.

The production process of high-performance fiber is different from that of conventional synthetic fiber, such as liquid crystal dry wet spinning of para aramid fiber, gel spinning of high-strength polyethylene fiber, combustion carbonization of carbon fiber and other processes, which bring synthetic fiber technology into the high-tech category. In addition, the composite materials formed with high-performance fibers as the reinforcement matrix, thermoplastic resins, thermosetting resins and various types of woven fabrics have gradually expanded their applications in aviation, aerospace, transportation, industrial production, agriculture, forestry, marine aquatic products, energy, environmental protection, communications, medical and health, sports equipment and other aspects, providing a new era of material conditions for human beings and enriching human life. Advanced composite materials, which are reinforced by high-performance fibers, have a wide range of applications, promoting the development of technology and economy.
